La película The Hours, adaptación del libro del mismo título –que a su vez es una transposición de la novela Mrs. Dalloway, de Virginia Woolf–, presenta una estructura narrativa caracterizada por la sucesión alternada de episodios que corresponden a tres tramas centrales (con una cuarta en el prólogo y epílogo). The film The Hours, adapted from the book with the same title – which in turn is a transposition of the novel Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf – has a narrative structure of alternating episodes that correspond to three main plots (together with a fourth plot in the prologue and epilogue). Each of the main plots reflect a day in the life of three women. Shared motifs among the plots and the treatment of time – which follows the narrative structure of the stories, giving additional prominence to the main themes of the film – create a strong sense of cohesion.
