La ansiedad en madres internas en centros penitenciarios que cumplen condena acompañadas de sus hijos

Abstract

Introducción: La ansiedad entre las mujeres reclusas en centros penitenciarios es muy común a causa del ingreso, la estancia, separación de hijos y familia y bajas condiciones de vida. Un factor determinante que podría mejorar la salud mental de las internas es el cumplimiento de condena junto a sus hijos menores de 3 años, un privilegio al que pocas mujeres pueden acceder en Catalunya. Objetivo: Determinar si la ansiedad de las mujeres reclusas disminuye gracias a el acompañamiento de los hijos menores de 3 años. Metodología: Se realizará un estudio mixto en el Centro Penitenciario de Mujeres de Barcelona en el que participarán 24 mujeres divididas en 2 grupos: el grupo control (n=12) constituido por madres que no conviven con sus hijos dentro del centro; y el grupo experimental (n=12) compuesto por madres que conviven junto a sus hijos. Esta investigación se realizará al largo de 45 días utilizando la revisión de la documentación en las historias clínicas de las reclusas, entrevistas y cuestionarios de ansiedad. Limitaciones del estudio: No tener el permiso por parte de la Dirección del Centro Penitenciario o de las mujeres reclusas, falsedades en entrevistas y cuestionarios de ansiedad, retirada del estudio por parte de las madres y altercados dentro del centro.

Introduction: Anxiety among women inmates in prisons is very common due to admission, stay, separation of children and family, and poor living conditions. A determining factor that could improve the mental health of the inmates is serving the sentence with their children under 3 years of age, a privilege that few women can access in Catalonia. Objective: To determine if the anxiety of female prisoners decreases thanks to the accompaniment of their children under 3 years of age. Methodology: A mixed study will be carried out at the Barcelona Women's Penitentiary Center in which 24 women divided into 2 groups will take part: the control group (n=12) which consists of mothers who do not live with their together children within the center; and the experimental group (n=12) that consists of mothers who live with their children. This investigation will be carried out over 60 days using the inmates' medical records, interviews and anxiety tests. Limitations of the study: Not having permission from the Directorate of the Penitentiary Center nor the women inmates, lies in the interviews and anxiety questionnaires, withdrawal from the study by the mothers and possible altercations in the center.
