Abstract

City bicycles are winning a leading role in several European cities. The successes of the cities that have been promoting cycling from the beginning encourage others to imitate them. The traffic and contamination of these cities, as well as other factors such as the health of the people and the continuous increase of the price of fuel, invite them for searching other alternative ways of transport. On the other hand, the sensibility and consciousness of the environment is increasing in the population’s mind. The research of sustainable materials to cover the citizen’s needs contributed to the inspiration of this project. As a result, this project contains the creation of the company Jordi Vilalta, S.A. and the brand Jordi Vilalta Barcelona which designs and manufactures wooden bicycles in Barcelona and commercializes them around Europe through specialized shops and Internet. The company commercializes bicycle models for men and women called “Tantum”. It is a city bike with a vintage design based on the inspirations from the beginning of the XX century. This project contains the main important tools studied in the business administration degree to create and analyze a business plan such as PESTEL, Porter’s and SWOT analysis, as well as organizational, financial and economic issues.
