Dynamic costing analysis tool for METRO product

Abstract

This Final Degree Project consists on the creation of a costing analysis tool. It is based on METRO products with the figures coming from Panamá, Lima and Santo Domingo line 2 projects produced in Santa Perpetua, Alstom rolling stock factory. To reach the main objective to create an accurate database with variable costs, a large collection of information has been done. The figures needed to be accurate, trustful, automatically modifiable, traceable and comparable. All this were objectives to be achieved to have a fully useful database to dynamically analyze. It has been created thanks too many excels formulas and files linked. The resulting database has been pivoted to give all the needed analysis. With the results, costs of the product can be reorganized in product breakdown structure, or grouped by the different criteria, such as car, project, materials cost, manufacturing costs, manufacturing lay-out, and so on. Learning curves graphs are as well made as a result of the manufacturing database analysis. This memory aims to explain the database and where it comes from in a way that someone without previous knowledge can understand it. However these procedures accurately explained are still important for future references because new modifications might be needed. To avoid costs caducity, the option to actualize the cost cells has been included, and calculations are run automatically by the file to remain relevant in the future.
