Procesos de voluntad democratizadora: La expresión feminista en el 15-M

Abstract

El presente texto se centra en el movimiento 15-M en el Estado español. A diferencia de otros movimientos sociales, el 15-M, además de denunciar duramente la crisis económica que golpea al país desde el año 2008, ha puesto en el centro de sus reivindicaciones la crítica al modelo democrático institucional imperante, arguyendo que éste no solo no combate los efectos del sistema económico actual sino que tampoco representa a la ciudadanía. Este reto a lo democráticoinstitucional se ha trasladado a los discursos y las prácticas del movimiento, donde se ha promovido una enorme horizontalidad de las redes de participación, una visibilización de una gran cantidad de luchas por la igualdad y una identidad general flexible y aglutinadora. Es en este marco democratizador donde ubicamos nuestro análisis del 15-M, interrogándonos específicamente sobre el grado en qué éste se ha impregnado de la lucha feminista en los discursos, prácticas, dinámicas y roles que se han establecido en su seno desde su irrupción. Dicho de otro modo, pretendemos arrojar cierta luz sobre la medida en que un movimiento como el 15- M, el cual ha buscado desde sus orígenes testear alternativas democráticas, ha avanzado en evitar la reproducción de prácticas de dominación y exclusión, concretamente las de género, en su interior.

Our focus in this article is the 15-M movement in Spain. As opposed to other social movements, the 15-M has not only harshly denounced the economic crisis that hits the country since 2008 but it has also criticized the dominant democraticinstitutional model and has argued that this does not fight against the effects of the current economic system and, more importantly, does not represent citizenship either. This challenge to the democratic-institutional sphere has in turn reached the discourses and practices of the movement, where it has promoted horizontal networks of participation, the visibilization of a great amount of struggles for equality, and a flexible and inclusive general identity. We locate our analysis of the 15-M movement in this democratisation framework and we specifically pose the question of the degree in which the movement has absorbed the feminist struggle into the discourses, practices, dynamics, and roles established within itself since its irruption. In other words, our goal is to shed some light on the degree in which a movement such as the 15-M, which since its origins has sought to test democratic alternatives, has made progress in avoiding the reproduction of exclusion and domination practices, particularly gender ones, within itself.
