Montessori Feminista. Esa parte que nunca nos explicaron, un recopilatorio de datos históricos

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza cuál fue el entorno familiar, político y social que llevó a Maria Montessori a luchar por la emancipación de la mujer en Italia. También se resume el feminismo desde sus inicios hasta que llegan las sufragistas, momento en el que Montessori es adolescente. Se hace una recopilación de datos acerca de su trayectoria como persona intelectual, así como desde donde luchó como feminista, en qué organizaciones participó, en qué revistas escribió acerca de las cuestiones femeninas y quién la influenció. Se estudia el Feminismo Científico nombrado por Maria Montessori, así como el concepto de Nueva Mujer que ella misma ejemplificó, y se relaciona su método pedagógico con el hecho de que fuera feminista y científica.

This work aims to analyze the political, social and family environment that led Maria Montessori to fight for the emancipation of women in Italy. This research starts by summarizing the feminist movement in Italy from its beginnings until the arrival of the suffragettes, when Maria Montessori was still a teenager. The study is a review about Maria Montessori as a feminist and as an intellectual woman. The text discusses the organizations in which Montessori was involved as an activist; the magazines in which she wrote articles about women; as well as by whom she was influenced. Maria Montessori defined the concept of Scientific Feminism, including the idea of New Woman that she embodied and exemplified herself. Finally, the work discusses the pedagogical method of Montessori and how it was influenced by the fact that she was a feminist and a scientific woman.
