dc.description.abstract | The thesis focuses on converting a gasoline-powered Derbi Senda X-TREME 2008 motorcycle into an electric vehicle to promote sustainable transportation. The project aims to achieve an efficient conversion that combines sustainability with performance. Specific objectives include researching electric powertrains, evaluating market options, ensuring regulatory compliance, and designing and integrating an electric powertrain system. Key phases of the project involve comprehensive modifications to the motorcycle's mechanical and electrical systems. The QS-138 V3 motor was chosen for its balance of power and efficiency, the Votol EM-200 controller for its advanced features and compatibility, and the PROS-18650 battery for its cost-effectiveness and performance. The project follows a systematic approach, including market analysis, feasibility studies, and detailed design and integration processes. Testing and evaluation were conducted to validate performance metrics, demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of converting traditional motorcycles to electric propulsion. The results highlight the technical, economic, and environmental advantages, such as reduced emissions, extended vehicle lifecycle, and enhanced urban mobility. The study concludes that electric motorcycle conversions are viable and beneficial, with recommendations for future advancements in battery technology and energy management systems to further improve performance and sustainability. | es |
