El doblaje y el español neutro en las películas de animación de Disney

Abstract

El doblaje es una modalidad de traducción audiovisual que surgió en 1929 y permitió eliminar la barrera del idioma en el mundo del cine. Para que una película sea considerada doblada, el diálogo de la nueva versión debe estar en un idioma distinto al del producto audiovisual original. A pesar de que este es un tema sumamente actual, existe muy poca información en cuanto a la historia del doblaje y el papel que juega el español dentro de ella. La mayor cantidad de datos disponibles se centran en el doblaje y su evolución dentro de Europa; existen pocos documentos fidedignos que comenten la historia, la práctica y las características del doblaje en otros países hispanoparlantes. Por otro lado, el español neutro es un tema polémico y familiar a todo aquel que haya visto los primeros largometrajes de dibujos animados de Disney en español. Aunque no fue muy bien recibido por el público, este existió aproximadamente 60 años y jugó un papel de suma importancia en el mundo del doblaje al castellano.

The process of film dubbing was invented in 1929. This type of audiovisual translation broke the language barrier within the filmmaking industry. If a film is to be considered dubbed, the dialogue in the new version of the film must be spoken in a language other than the one in the original version. Despite the fact that dubbing is a present subject of discussion, little of its history or the role of the Spanish language in the world of dubbing is documented. Most of what is known focuses on its history and evolution within Europe. Reliable documents that certify the history, practice and characteristics of dubbing in Latin-American Spanish speaking countries are scarce. On the other hand, the discourse that surrounds “neutral Spanish” is controversial and well known to those who saw Disney’s first full-length animated films dubbed into Spanish. Although this variation of the Spanish language was not well-received, it was used in the world of filmmaking for approximately 60 years. Neutral Spanish played a highly important role in the world of dubbing films into the Spanish language.
