Traducció d'un testament

Abstract

Aquest treball detalla el conjunt d’activitats que es duen a terme durant la traducció d’un text jurídic. L’objectiu principal ha estat assumir aquesta traducció com si es tractés d’un encàrrec real. El tema escollit pertany al Dret civil, en concret als testaments. Hem volgut reflectir totes les fases que apareixen en el procés traductor. Primer, hem recopilat informació per elaborar el marc teòric, per això ens hem basat en el dret de successions de Califòrnia i de Catalunya. Això ens ha permès conèixer les diferències que presenten. Tot seguit, hem fet una cerca terminològica i hem elaborat unes fitxes amb els termes d’especialitat que hem considerat més importants. A continuació, hem consultat textos paral·lels i bibliografia sobre la redacció de textos jurídics, per tal d’adaptar-nos a les normes, estil i convencions del català, i així poder fer una traducció de qualitat. Per acabar, hem dut a terme un comentari traductològic per justificar les diferents decisions adoptades durant la traducció.

This project outlines the set of activities carried out during the translation of a legal text. The main aim has been to consider this translation as a real translation assignment. The chosen subject is part of Civil Law, more specifically to wills. We have wanted to reflect all the stages of the translation process. First, we have compiled information in order to prepare a theoretical framework based on the succession law of California and Catalonia. This has allowed us to know the differences that they present. Afterwards, we have made a terminological search and written up some index cards of the specialized terms considered most important. Next, we have consulted parallel texts and bibliography on the drafting of legal texts, in order to adapt to the norms, style and conventions of the Catalan language and thus be able to achieve a quality translation. Finally, we have carried out a translation commentary to justify the different decisions taken during the translation.
