Arantxa Urretabizkaia: Escritora vasca desde el tardofranquismo hasta nuestros días

Abstract

Arantxa Urretabizkaia es una de las escritoras más influyentes en la literatura vasca del siglo XX. Al situar su obra que abarca desde el tardofranquismo hasta nuestros días, exploro y examíno cómo sus escritos reflejan y desafían las normas culturales y políticas de su época. Mi análisis se basa en un marco teórico que enfatiza la interacción entre la identidad cultural vasca y su trayectoria como autora traducida y traductora. Por tanto, este trabajo permite una comprensión integral de la evolución temática y estilística de su obra. Se abordan cuestiones clave sobre sus contribuciones a la literatura vasca y sus aportaciones como escritora y traductora en el canon literario vasco del siglo XX. Al analizar temas recurrentes como la identidad cultural, la resistencia, la memoria, junto con el uso del lenguaje del euskera batua y el simbolismo, y su papel como escritora/mujer, destaco la importancia de Urretabizkaia en la promoción de la identidad cultural vasca. En definitiva, mi trabajo contribuye a la comprensión de la evolución de la literatura vasca y perdurable relevancia del legado de Arantxa Urretabizkaia en este contexto.

Arantxa Urretabizkaia is one of the most influential writers in 20th-century Basque literature. By situating her work, which spans from the late Franco era to the present day, I explore and examine how her writings both reflect and challenge the cultural and political norms of her time. My analysis is based on a theoretical framework that emphasizes the interaction between Basque cultural identity and her trajectory as a translated author and translator. This work therefore allows for a comprehensive understanding of the thematic and stylistic evolution of her work. Key questions are addressed regarding her contributions to Basque literature and her contributions as a writer and translator to the 20th-century Basque literary canon. By analyzing recurring themes such as cultural identity, resistance, and memory, along with the use of the Batua Basque language and symbolism, and her role as a woman writer, I highlight Urretabizkaia's importance in promoting Basque cultural identity. Ultimately, my work contributes to the understanding of the evolution of Basque literature and the enduring relevance of Arantxa Urretabizkaia's legacy in this context.
