EFL teaching strategies in 6th grade primary education

Abstract

This study examines the teaching strategies used by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in-service teachers in sixth-grade primary school classrooms. The primary objective of this piece of research is to gather, analyze, and discuss the perspectives of some primary school EFL teachers and their students on the most frequently utilized classroom strategies for teaching English. Data collection was conducted through surveys designed by the author, which were distributed to both teachers and their students to obtain and analyze their responses. The findings aim to shed light on the alignment and differences in perceptions between teachers and students of regular EFL teaching practices within this educational context.

Aquest estudi examina les estratègies d’ensenyament utilitzades pels professors d’anglès com a llengua estrangera (EFL) a les classes de sisè de primària. L’objectiu principal d’aquesta recerca és recollir, analitzar i debatre les perspectives de quatre professors d’EFL en educació primària i dels seus alumnes sobre les estratègies d’ensenyament de l’anglès més utilitzades a l’aula. La recollida de dades es va dur a terme mitjançant enquestes dissenyades per l’autor, que es van distribuir tant als professors com als seus alumnes per obtenir i analitzar les seves respostes. Les conclusions tenen com a objectiu aclarir el grau d’alineació i les diferències en les percepcions entre mestres i alumnes sobre les pràctiques recurrents d’ensenyament d’EFL en aquest context educatiu.
