Traducción con Trados de una sección de la tesina en biología molecular: Towards understanding the molecular basis of primordial germ cells migration in the Yellowtail Kingfish (Seriola lalandi)

Abstract

El presente trabajo consiste en la traducción de un artículo científico mediante el uso de la herramienta SDL Trados y su posterior análisis. El artículo, Towards understanding the molecular basis of primordial germ cells migration in the Yellowtail Kingfish (Seriola lalandi) (Fernández JA et al., 2011) es una sección de una tesina en biología molecular escrita por el Dr. Jorge Amat Fernández. Es un texto científico sobre ingeniería genética aplicada a la acuicultura y englobado dentro de la categoría de texto científico-técnico, especialidad cursada en el presente máster, cuyas principales características describimos a lo largo del trabajo. Nuestro principal objetivo es enfrentarnos a un texto científico altamente especializado y poner en práctica lo aprendido en este máster, así como emplear el programa Trados para esta tarea, ya que es una de las herramientas TAO actualmente más demandadas. Finalmente, realizamos un análisis de nuestra traducción repasando sus aspectos más importantes.

This work consists of the translation of a scientific article using the SDL Trados tool and its subsequent analysis. The article, ¨Towards understanding the molecular basis of primordial germ cells migration in the Yellowtail Kingfish (Seriola lalandi)¨ (Fernández JA et al., 2011) is a section of a dissertation in molecular biology written by Dr. Jorge Amat Fernández It is a scientific text on genetic engineering applied to aquaculture and falls into the category of scientific-technical text, a speciality studied in this master's degree, the main characteristics of which are described throughout the work.. Our main objective is to deal with a highly specialised scientific text and to put into practice what we have learnt in this master's degree, as well as to use the Trados software for this task, as it is one of the most demanded CAT tools at present. Finally, we analyse our translation by reviewing its most important aspects.
